Don't Forget the Picnic June 23 at the Church, and the Christmas Party Dec. 15, save the dates

Who are you?

In our community, most feel that there are only two possibilities, crossdresser or transsexual, but is this true?

What is a transsexual? Is she a person who has changed their sex, or is going to do so, or is only thinking about doing so?

What is a crossdresser? Is she a person who only likes to dress as a woman, or who fantasizes about passing as woman but does not want to be a woman.

What about other possibilities? What about the girls who would love to change but for some reason can't. What are they and where can they go? Will a transsexual group want them? Will they be interested in the group or maybe even find it painful? Will it help them? Will a crossdresser group do any better? Is there a need for another type of group?

For now, the girls in the middle must just try to find comfort where they can? Do they fly under the radar as a crossdresser or try to find help as a transsexual? We must all try to help and understand?

Transgendered?

What do we call ourselves, some of the names can be confusing. Just what does Transgendered mean anyway?

The trans part means change, but what are we going to change? Wives and friends can find this hard to understand. Would some other word be a better description of us.

At the CDM meeting, one of the girls mentioned that her girl friend said that bigendered might be a better term. Bisexual is a well understood term so bigendered might be a better term. Just as a bisexual can be comfortable with either sex, a bigendered can be comfortable as either gender without any desire to change anything.

What do you think?

Dinner and a Movie

The next "Dinner and a Movie" is March 31. If you have not been out to one, what are you waiting for? We will talk about the outing on March 24 at the regular meeting. We might even be able to decide on a movie to see, or at least a possible list of choices that would depend on show times and changes in programs. (The theaters do not list schedules a week ahead)

FEBRUARY MEETING

The February meeting was highlighted by Dr. Lisa O'Conner. She explained the services that she provides to the community. Some of these were counseling of waves and partners AND primary care if you need a doctor who is not going to question you about you strange saving habits.

MARCH MEETING

Sharla is willing to come to the March meeting to do a Mary Kay presentation. She would like to know if you would like a program or individual consultations. We can talk about this at the February meeting.

APRIL MEETING

Trish will be coming to the April meeting with her jewelry collection, Lady REMINGTON now Lia Sophia. Bring money and enjoy. The collection is good, she brings a lot of bargain items, and the jewelry has a lifetime guarantee..

I.D. Cards

I hope to bring an I.D. camera to the March meeting. If I can get it again, I will include the notice in the March newsletter. This will be a one time only event, as I can not borrow the camera again for a while, and carrying it is a bit hard on me. (I must carry it in and out of my home, as I dare not leave it in the car over night)

A Doctor in the Community

Her name is Lisa O'Connor. The practice is Healthy Transitions, L.L.C., 1390 Valley Rd., Suite 1E, Stirling, NJ, 07980. 908-647-1688

I have invited Lisa to come to our meetings. While transition is not something most of us consider, the emotional side is still something for us to thing about. I have gone to her myself.

Chi Delta Mu

The March was a discussion meeting of the type that NJ Support has. The change was that each person submitted a written question and the discussion leader drew questions from this set.

Girls Night Out

Alice is continuing the "Girls Night Out". Anyone wishing information about future NIGHT OUT events and dates should contact Alice.

Weekend in Pennsylvania

Anyone wishing to spend a weekend with Alice in Pennsylvania contact Alice.

HUMOR ?

Two doctors opened an office in a small town and put up a sign reading: "Dr. Smith and Dr. Jones, Psychiatry and Proctology."
The town council was not happy with the sign, so the doctors changed it to "Hysterias and Posteriors."
This was not acceptable either, so in an effort to satisfy the council they changed the sign to "Schizoids and Hemorrhoids." No go.
Next, they tried "Catatonics and High Colonics." Thumbs down again.
Then came "Manic Depressives and Anal Retentives." Still not good.
Another attempt resulted in "Minds and Behinds." Unacceptable again.
So they tried "Lost Souls and Ass Holes." No way.
"Analysis and Anal Cysts?" Nope.
"Nuts and Butts?" Uh uh.
"Freaks and Cheeks?" Still no go.
"Loons and Moons?" Forget it.
Almost at their wit's end, the doctors finally came up with: "Dr. Smith and Dr. Jones, Odds and Ends."
