Endless Mountain Girls August Meting

The members of the Endless Mountain Girls held their monthly meeting by going to Watkins Glen, New York

The day started with shopping in town and then some wine tasting in the wine shops. A few stock up on Finger Lakes Wines.

At 5:30 PM, they boarded Captain Bill's Boat for a Seneca Lake Dinner Cruise. They were seated on the upper deck under an awning with the sides open. The meal started with drinks and coffee followed by a salad.

The main courses were Prime Rib, Stuffed Cornish Game Hen, or Sea Scallops. Dessert was Strawberry Cheesecake.

Not wanting to rush the meal, the cruise is 3 hours long. Everyone enjoyed acting and being treated like ladies and had a good time.

Picnic June 25

The final word on the picnic. After the donation by a member of the cost of the church rental, we made a profit of NINE dollars and FORTY-FOUR cents.

Many thanks to all who worked hard to make the picnic a success.

HELP! WITH NEWSLETTER

For those who know me, this might come as a surprise, but I could use some help with articles for the newsletter. Simply email anything to me that might be of interest. Please keep it to about half of a page as I do not have the time to edit and I can not put long articles in the newsletter.

PLEASE! Do not be offended if I do not include your article. I have not help writing, printing, folding, stuffing or mailing. It is a race to get anything out each month.

New Members

We are always looking for new members. Any member may bring someone that they have meet. Please go out of your way to make a new member of visitor feel welcome and at home.

CHRISTMAS

A member has told me that many people are not happy with the location of the party. One comment was that they felt we were being hidden in the basement.

If you have had the time to look at the hotel, you will see that the only other dinning area is next to the main bar, and too large for our group. The only other site that was recommended is the one that is used by the Washington Crossing group. As this is not a hotel, there would be a problem for anyone who had to change at the site.

I do not think there would be time to change for this year, but would like your comments.

PROGRAMS

I am looking for ideas for programs. I you have any ideas and or contacts, please give them to Pat. (A.K.A. - ME)

$ MONEY $

The attendance at meetings is going down, and some members have moved out of the area. If attendance does not improve, we may have some real money problems. If you have any ideas, or feel like making a donation, see Pat or Robin.

If it makes anyone feel less a fool for donating to the chapter, I will tell all of you that the cost of this newsletter and the cost of the website and the cost of the chapter phone are paid for by donations and not dues or meeting fees.

HUMOR

I hope this does not offend anyone. It was sent to me and I felt it was funny.

A man, his wife, and mother-in-law went on vacation to the Holy Land. While they were there the mother-in-law passed away. The undertaker told them, "You can have her shipped home for $5,000, or you can bury her here in the Holy Land for $150.00." The man thought about it and told him he would just have her shipped home. The undertaker asked, "Why would you spend $5,000 to ship your mother-in-law home, when it would be wonderful to be buried here and spend only $150.00?" The man replied, "A man died here 2000 years ago, was buried here, and three days later he rose from the dead. I just can't take that chance."
