Picnic at the Church

The date is June 26, our normal June meeting date, and the cost id $7.00 per person. The starting time will be about 4:00 P.M. but some help will be needed before that time to set up the tents, chairs etc. ABOUT 3:00 P.M.

If you wish to bring some food, feel free to do so. Cakes or salads might be a good idea. We will provide the burgers, hot dogs, soda, chips, potato salad and condiments.

Joyce is providing the tents and some gas grills. We will need someone to do the cooking, but with so many 'girls' hear, that should be no problem.

The picnic should go on until about 10:00 P.M., but the food might not last that long.

Wives Meeting

We will try to have a wives meeting during the picnic.

Dinner and a Movie

July will be the next dinner and a movie night. The last Dinner and a movie was more fun than usual, for some of us. It was Megan's first real trip out in public, and she got the whole treatment. After dinner, about one and a half hours out in public, she needed a cigarette but had none. O.K., you want them you buy them. We made her walk into a Shell gas station ALONE. As luck would have it, the woman either could not understand her or went into shock and the man working outside had to come in to help her. Megan DID survive, but only just.

ELECTIONS

June is election month. If anyone is interested in running for office, let me know. If there are no new nominations, the old officers will remain in office and we will not have a formal election.

Girls Night Out

Anyone wishing information about future NIGHT OUT events and dates should contact Alice.

Tri-Ess National

If we are to remain a Tri-Ess Chapter, all members must join Tri-Ess National. If you do not wish mail sent to you home, it can be sent to the chapter P.O. Box. If the annual fee is the only problem, speak to Pat, something might be arranged.

National will be re-certifying the chapter soon, and this is a must.

If you have any ideas or comments, please mail or email Pat.

New Members

We are always looking for new members. Any member may bring someone that they have meet. Please go out of your way to make a new member of visitor feel welcome and at home.

I have interviewed several in the past month and hoe that some will come to the meeting.

$ MONEY $

The attendance at meetings is going down, and some members will soon be moving out of the area. If attendance does not improve, we may have some real money problems.

Programs
ANY IDEAS????

Anyone have an idea for a meeting?

October will be the Halloween Party and Dec. is the Christmas Party. The rest of the year is open. If you have an idea, please give it to me. If you know of someone who can/will give a program, tell me.

Christmas

I Contacted the Hotel about Christmas and have reserved the rooms for Dec. 11.

HELP! WITH NEWSLETTER

For those who know me, this might come as a surprise, but I could use some help with articles for the newsletter. Simply email anything to me that might be of interest. Please keep it to about one half of a page as I do not have the time to edit and I can not put long articles in the newsletter.

HUMOR

One sunny day in 2005 an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the U. S. Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Bush." The Marine looked at the man and said, "Sir, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here." The old man said, "Okay" and walked away. The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, "I would like to go in and meet with President Bush." The Marine again told the man, "Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here." The man thanked him and, again, just walked away. The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same U. S. Marine, saying "I would like to go in and meet with President Bush." The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Bush. I've told you already that Mr. Bush is no longer the president and no longer resides here. Don't you understand?" The old man looked at the Marine and said, "Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it." The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, "See you tomorrow."
