Christmas Party

The Christmas party was a success, and we will be talking about next year at the same place with a few changes. The date is the first thing to be decided. As Christmas will be on a Saturday, the week before is a possible date. The changing room should also be ready for next year, and I hope we can keep the bar.

CHURCH

The church Sunday was a bad weather day, but Pat, Cindy, Donna, Kristie and Patty made it anyway

Wives Meeting

A meeting of the wives should be held every month. I hope to get the heat on for this month. If your wife has not been to a meeting lately, remind her that we are having this meeting.

Girls Night Out

Anyone wishing information about future NIGHT OUT events and dates should contact Alice.

New Members

We are always looking for new members. Any member may bring someone that they have meet. Please go out of your way to make a new member of visitor feel welcome and at home.

ANY IDEAS????

Anyone have an idea for a meeting? October will be the Halloween Party and Dec. is the Christmas Party. We hope to get the picnic back to June. And the I.D. Cards will be in May The rest of the year is open. If you have an idea, please give it to me. If you know of someone who can/will give a program, tell me. Lady Remington will be one of the months and we might try a trip to the Dress Barn if enough girls want to go.

HELP! WITH NEWSLETTER

For those who know me, this might come as a surprise, but I could use some help with articles for the newsletter. Simply email anything to me that might be of interest. Please keep it to about one half of a page as I do not have the time to edit and I can not put long articles in the newsletter.

Shopping Trip

On Wednesday I stopped in the Dress Barn on Rt. 130. The manager that we met on a Dinner and Movie night was there and was very helpful. I selected a few items that I wanted to try on, and she offered to let me go in the back of the store if it would make me more comfortable. I said that the regular dressing room was OK and she opened it for me.

I hope that we can arrange to go there on a meeting night for a group shopping trip. The store would be closed to the public for our shopping. We can talk about it at the meeting.

Dinner and a Movie

Well, here we go again. January has FIVE Saturdays, so its time for a movie and dinner. We will probably try the same theatre and then dinner at the restaurant. That has worked well in the past.

If you are interested, contact Pat.

HUMOR

A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgery. As she lay her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest. After a moment or two, the vet shook his head sadly and said, "I'm so sorry, Cuddles has passed away."

The distressed owner wailed, "Are you sure?

"Yes, I am sure. The duck is dead," he replied.

"How can you be so sure," she protested. "I mean, you haven't done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something."

The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room, and returned a few moments later with a black Labrador Retriever. As the duck's owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom. He then looked at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head. The vet patted the dog and took it out, and returned a few moments later with a beautiful cat. The cat jumped up on the table and also sniffed delicately at the bird. The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room.

The vet looked at the woman and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck."

Then the vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill which he handed to the woman. The duck's owner, still in shock, took the bill. "$150!", she cried, "$150 just to tell me my duck is dead?!!"

The vet shrugged. "I'm sorry. If you'd taken my word for it, the bill would have been only $20, but what with the Lab Report and the Cat Scan ...."
