The Picnic

The picnic was a success, and the turkey was drunk, or eaten. About 35 girls, and at least one man!, were there.

The rain came, but some of the girls were dressed for it (Bathing suit Becky was the leader)

P.S. We only lost about $150.00

CHRISTMAS PARTY

The Christmas Party is on for Dec. 20. SAVE the date.

Due to the demise of Frenchtown, we are moving to Flemington.

The site is a bed and breakfast called The Main Street Manor. (194 Main St. Flemington NJ) We will have the whole place to our selves and the same caterer as last year. The food and bar still have to be worked out, but the careter will be thaking care of that.

The cost will be a bit more that last year, and I may have to raise the price a bit. (maybe $10.00 more)

The Manor will be open to us from about 5 PM until 11 PM. I have to check about early arrivals, We will have a changing room but not for over night.Aditional over night room are available, but a bit on the expensive side. (The nearby RAMADA on 202 might be a better idea if you want to stay over night)

Spring and Summer

With the return of warm weather, we will try to have some programs, Cindy is working on them but has had no luck so far.

Dinner and a Movie

Aug. 30 will be the next one. Contact Pat for information. Pat may have a problem, but is working on it.

Health news.

Ronnie has been to a meeting and Dinner and a movie, but became ill again with the heat wave.

NJ Support

The New Jersey Support meeting for June was a presentation by Rev. Charles of the Unitarian Church. He explained the development of Unitarianism and of the Welcoming Congregation concept.

Pat announced that she would not run for vice-chair again, but would remain as co-signer for the group accounts.

Chi Delta Mu

The next meeting of CDM is on September 13, 2008

HUMOR

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting.

Well, for example, the other day the wife and I went into town and went into a shop. We were only in there for about 5 minutes. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.

We went up to him and I said, 'Come on man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?' He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him an idiot. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires.

So Mary called him a fart head. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes.

The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Just then our bus arrived. We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired. It's important at our age.
